On bicycles to Vienna

From 10th to 20th of May 2008 an international bicycle rally " The Vienna Offensive on the Bicycle" is going to take place. The cycle route stretches from Cracow and Moravia to Vienna. Its length is estimated at 600 km. Cracow - Moravia- Vienna Greenways is a green track of natural and cultural heritage which combines not only antique cities and towns but also unique and picturesque scenery.

Starting from Kraków-Częstochowa Jurrassic Highland Chain ( Jura Krakowska) through Pszczyńska Grounds ( Ziemia Pszczyńska), Cieszyn Silesia ( Śląsk Cieszyński) and the Beskids (Beskidy), the track leads to the South Moravia and ends in Lower Austria.

As the rally develops, the peleton will be joined by new cyclists. In course of the rally numerous social events are planned: sightseeing of local tracks, open-air festivals, contests, sightseeing of museums and listed buildings. The cyclists are going to meet with the representatives of local authorities and non-governmental organizations.
The rally is organized by the Foundation "Partnership for Environment on the occasion of the IV international weekly " Bicycle Tourism " and 325th anniversary of the Battle of Vienna.
