In the conversation with Donald Tusk, Prime Minister of Holland, Jan Peter Balkenende, expressed his indignation concerning last week’s presidential address, in which fragments of gay wedding from Kanada were used. According to the opinion of Prime Minister of Holland, the transmission of presidential address has a homophobic character, and the president itself, as a leader and representative of the country, which has the most friendly towards homosexuals legislation in Europe, is obligated to defend the rights of sexual minorities.

Holland was a first country in the world, which introduce the institution of rightful homosexual marriages. Since 2001 gays and lesbians have a right to adopt children on the same rights as heterosexual couples.
