Berliner Ensemble with “The Threepenny Opera” in Wroclaw
Berliner Ensemble, theatre founded by Bertolt Brecht in Berlin, after 50 years again in Wrocław. Theatre will appear on stage at this year’s Stage Song (Przegląd Piosenki Aktorskiej).
Berliner Ensemble present one of the most famous worldwide music performance “The Threepenny Opera”, to which Bertolt Brecht wrote a libretto and Kurt Will composed music. The play is adapted from 18th century John Gay’s ”The Beggar’s Opera”, satiric play which criticize bourgeoisie and aristocratic sphere of London.
On behalf of the needs of the musical, Music Theatre Capitol, together with Polish Theatre, undertake the conversion of main stage to fit the technical conditions to performance requirements. The team are going to give two performances during 29th Stage Songs in Wroclaw – 7 and 8th of April at 7 p.m. in Polish Theatre.
