Architects from Silesia among the best in Europe
Silesian designers Tomasz Konior and Robert Konieczny are among 40 best young European architects. Designers have been selected by international group of art critics, journalists and architects.
"Europe 40 Under 40" list is co-initiative of Museum of Architecture, The Chicago Athenaeum and European Center of Architectural, Artistic, Designing and Urban Studies (Europejskiego Centrum Studiów Architektonicznych, Artystycznych, Projektowych i Urbanistycznych).
Among this prestigious group two Poles can be found - Robert Konieczny from KWK Promes and Tomasz Konior. Both of them are running their workshops in Katowice.
Konieczny is a Polish architect most frequently presented in foreighn press. Monthly “Wallpaper” placed him on a list “101 exciting young architects of the world”, he designed for example Aatrial House in Opole and it was recognized by portal World Architecture News as the best house in year 2006.
Konior is famous for his buildings of public usefulness. In December, solemn opening of his Center of Science and Music Education in Katowice (Centrum Nauki i Edukacji Muzycznej w Katowicach) took place.
