„Katyń” displayed in Moscow
Yesterday official display of the newest Andrzej Wajda film „Katyń” in Movie Home in Moscow took place.
On premiere display of Wajda’s drama President of Russia advisors came: Siergiej Jastrzembski – dealing with the development of contacts with European Union and Jurij Łaptiew – dealing with culture. Among those present were representatives of culture and science fields, as well as defenders of human rights and activists from non-governmental organizations and students.
President Władimir Putin’s advisor noticed that “it is not the first time when Wajda confirmed that he is great director”. “The director who can in very subtle way deal with the most difficult matters. I would like to, as a spectator, thank him for very proper and honest film.” – said Jastrzembski.
Wajda alone, after the display said, that he is really moved that the film has been displayed in Moscow, he did not realized he will live long enough to see that moment.
On press conference, which preceded Thursday’s show, Wajda emphasized that “Katyń” is not administered against Russia. “This voice is not administered against Russia, and these events are going to fade, if we would still remember about them” – said Wajda.
