Memory March in Cracow
To mark the 65th anniversary of Cracow ghetto liquidation people marched in memory of Nazis' Jewish Victims. Hundreds of people participated, including 100 Jews from Israel, Great Britain and Argentina.
On the Ghetto Heroes Square (Plac Bohaterów Getta), where in March 1943 Nazis made a selection of Jews people, almost one thousand people gathered. After short ceremony, in which clerks and authority representatives, governor and speaker of the Małopolska province, also participated, march got moving along the streets in Cracow.
Unofficially, Memory March had been already taking place in the 80ties. Today this event is included into the programme of five-days’ celebrations of the liquidation of Cracow Ghetto. The celebration is organized by Festival of Jews Culture Association (Stowarzyszenie Festiwal Kultury Żydowskiej).
