Two Polish Soldiers Killed in Afganistan

    Two Polish soldiers were killed in Afganistan, and one is seriously injured. Soldiers who were coming back from their patrol to the base of Szarana, drove into a mine..
    This tragic event took place on Tuesday at 7.15 pm local time, one of the HMMWV type vehicles which was driving in a column drove into a mine. As a result of the explosion two Polish soldiers died. Corporal  Szymon Słowik and private Hubert Kowalewski were killed and another soldier - private Jacek D. was wounded. After first aid he was evacuated to the hospital in Orgun. According to the doctors his life is not threatened. 1,200 soldiers from II shift of Polish Military Contingent are serving in the army in Afganistan. Up till now one soldier had been killed there.
