Lech Wałęsa the candidate to the Sage Assembly

Lech Wałęsa is one of the candidate to wo called: "Sage Assembly". The role of the gathering is to characterize the future of Europe in the next 20 years.

Poland in return for the approval of his candidature demanded one position for the Pole in the Staff, and this proposition was considered positive. Those informations "Newsweek" got from the members of the polish delegation. Previous government did not propose any candidature.
In the conversation with Reuters, our President Lech Wałęsa announced that he would accept the nomination. "I've seen the need to create such group for a long time, the group which would be capable of asking questions about the future of UE in more globalized world, about the right fundaments of our european home and its geographical range" - Lech Wałęsa said.
