Study Tour III –Discovering Eastern Mazovia- Siedlce

On the 25th of September took place the third Study Tour organized by the Mazovia Development Agency. Mazovia voivodship is the biggest centre of social and economic growth in Poland. Siedlce is a city from which everything has begun. Honourable patronage over the event took: Marshal of Masovia Voivodship, Voivodship Governor of Mazovia and chairman of Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency.

The participants of Study Tour were invited to the beautiful Ogiński Palace by the president of Siedlce Wojciech Kudelski. In the beautifully renovated Ogiński Palace where at the moment is located a rector's office of the Palachia Academy, took place a conference during of which Wojciech Kudelski presented a vision of the city.

Siedlce is a city with 460 years old tradition. It is the biggest centre in the triangle Warsaw-Bialystok-Lublin. It has more or less 80 thousand inhabitants. It became an important point in the country and interntional transport system because the city is on the way of transeuropean transport tunnel Kll. In Siedlce will be also built a "Great Mazovian Bupass".

According to the pressident of the city, Siedlce and its economic potential is appreciated in number of investment rankings. The city was awarded by the Polish Chamber of Commerce with a title of "Fair Play Commune". This is why in the city appear more and more new companies and investors. A Special Economic Zone is especially attractive in Siedlce. The companies which invest on the territory of the zone can gain a tax relief up to 40-60%. According to the President Kudelski "Siedlce local authorities have a mission to provide the best conditions for long-term development based on knowledge and advanced technology, suitable for best investing.".

Economic potential of Siedlce is very high. It is worth to mention about the building branch with the leading companies such as: Polimex Mostostal SA, Podlaska Wytwórnia Wódki (Podlachia Vodka Factory) "Polmos SA" and Stadler Rail AG producing modern railway vehicles. All this companies are really enterprising thanks to the Special Economic Zone and all this companies were attraction with which the participants of Study Tour could acquaint themselves.
