Krzysztof Penderecki's Festival in November
Krzysztof Penderecki's Festival, being a culmination of 75th anniversary of the composer birthday, will be held in Warsaw from the 20th till the 23rd of November.
The festival will start three days before Penderecki's birthday, on the 20th of November, with a concert in the National Philharmonic, with the participation of the Polish Radio National Symphony Orchestra.
On the second day of the festival, that is 21st of November, the audience will have opportunity to hear, among others: II string quartet and world premiere of the latest work of the composer - III string quartet. In the premiere will take part the Shanghai Orchestra.
The final of the festival is planned at the day of Penderecki's birthday - 23rd of November. The last final day will begin with a mass in the Saint John the Baptist Church concelebrated by the Warsaw Metropolitan Kazimierz Nycz, during of which the Lege Artis chorus will perform fragments of "Stabat Mater" and "Agnus Dei" composed by Penderecki.
