Poor situation of U.S. Polonia

Weak U.S. dollar and Polish integration with the EU changed Polonia life in Chicago and New York. In Polish districts on Greenpoint or Ridgewood (New York), Passaic (New Jersey), Belmont and "Jackowo" (Chicago) more and more Polish businesses had to be closed.

Tourists avoid Poland

Polish entry to the Schengen zone which purportedly was to bring about an invasion of the tourists from abroad, caused that Poland has been visited by 100 thousand Eastern tourists fewer than last year.

Poles reached the Arctic summit

It was short but very interesting, exploratory for us, and above all very lucky expedition "- summed up Leszek Cichy, the head of the expedition, when he returned to the country. On 7th of June five Poles have reached the highest peak of the Arctic - Gunnbjorns Fjeld (3694 m), which is popularly known as Icy Mountain.
