Obama is going to visit Poland

It will be his first travel abroad but Barack Obama ensures that he will visit Poland even if he looses his fight for the White House. The candidate for the U.S. President has already accepted Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Radoslaw Sikorski's invitation to visit our country.

Nuclear power stations are going to be build in Poland

Polish government want to build two nuclear power stations, one on Pomerania and one in Wielkopolska. Electricity from the first plant would flow in 2020. A few years later another one would start working.

Poles are afraid of old age

According to Poles, old-age is the worst period in life – this is the summary of the Institute of Public Affairs’ report. As many as every second person between the age of 45 and 65 who participated in the survey, are afraid of: illness, infirmity and memory loss.

Polish soldiers accused of genocide

Without mercy, being aware that they kill civilians they mortared an Afghan village Nanger Khel - the Prosecutor is convinced about their guilt. It means that six soldiers will be judged for genocide. They are threatened with life sentence.

Malbork Castle siege

On the 17th of July will take place the "castle siege" in Malbork. The open air festival is referring to the historical facts connected with besiegeing of the castle by the Poland-Lithuania army in 1410, which won the Grunwald battle on the 15th of 1410.
