The director, screenwriter and producer Peter Lazarkiewicz died suddenly on Friday of a heart attack. He was 54. In May, he finished his new film "0-1-0".

Polish soldier was killed and four was wounded in Afghanistan. In the vicinity of the base Wasiqua, military patrol probably drove into a mine. This information has been confirmed by the Defence Minister Bogdan Klich.

Woman has been burning as a torch. Had it not been for the fast reaction of policemen patroling Saxon Garden in Warsaw, 55-year-old woman would have no chance to survive. Did she set on fire herself, by accident, or someone did it intentionally? For the moment, it is not known.

Polish current law concerning abortion deviate from the social expectations, 66 percent of Poles believes that the authorities should not deal with abortion, leaving the issue to be settled by people who are involved in this – it results from the CBOS (Social Opinion Research Center - Centrum Badań Opinii Społecznej) opinion poll.
