More than a hundred guests will be discussing the situation of human rights and democracy on a OSCE conference (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe), which began today in Warsaw. Delegates from countries which belong to the organization will be discussing all the greatest threats to civil liberties during these 2 weeks.

First degree of avalanche risk is currently in force in Tatra Mountains since Saturday. Tatra Voluntary Emergency Rescue Service (TOPR - Tatrzańskie Ochotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe) advises tourists not to hike on routes above shelters.

On 5th of October 1983 the Nobel Committee awarded Lech Walesa with the Nobel Peace Prize. His wife, Danuta, together with his son, Bogdan received the honorable mention during the gala in Oslo on 10th of December. This year, passes 25th anniversary of these events.

Cracow declared war against drunken British who drink themselves to death in local pubs and then parade naked in the city centre. According to the internet service tvn.info, the owners of open-air pubs at the Main Market Square must sign an agreement with the City Hall that they commit themselves to not selling alcohol to people partially dressed.
